INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR ON RENEWABLE ENERGY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT
Odisha was pioneer in the power sector reform in the entire country during 90s of the last century by unbundling the erstwhile Electricity Board and allowing private participation in the sector. Under the backdrop of the aforesaid power sector reform, Odisha Hydro Power Corporation Ltd (OHPC) was formed during the year 1995 as a Government controlled entity. OHPC is now a gold rated ISO 9001:2008, 14001, OHSAS 18001 certified Govt. of Odisha PSU. It operates 6 nos. of multipurpose Hydro Power Projects located across the state of Odisha at Hirakud, Chiplima, Rengali, Upper Kolab, Upper Indravati, Balimela & Macchkund (Joint Scheme) with installed capacity of 2063.5 MW. Further it has enhanced its reach by diversifying into the field of thermal generation and coal production etc. by way of partnering through JVs. Moreover in order to accomplish its overall objectives and keeping in view the environmental issues, OHPC in the recent past has ventured into the generation of energy from renewable sources viz. Solar, Small Hydro, Pumped Storage Projects etc.
SILVER JUBILEE YEAR-2020
As one of the major success stories of the power sector reform in the State, OHPC in the current year is going to complete its twenty fifth year of foundation Day. To commemorate the success story of its glorified existence, OHPC has planned to celebrate its “SILVER JUBILEE FOUNDATION DAY FUNCTION” on 21st of April, 2020.

On the eve of this Historical event, OHPC is going to host a two days’ INTERNATIONAL SEMINAR on “RENEWABLE ENERGY FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” (ISRESD 2020) on 22nd and 23rd April’2020 at BHUBANESWAR, ODISHA.
OBJECTIVES OF ISRESD 2020
The objective behind this seminar is to provide an ideal global platform among the Users, Generators, Research scholars, Academicians, Regulators, Corporates, Govt. Authorities, Students, Industry professionals and Policy makers etc. for dissemination, deliberation, analysis to create awareness on recent technological advancements, innovations, opportunities and encountering the challenges to frame future roadmap to cater the need of the emerging trends and also to encourage the policy makers to share information and ideas on regulatory and legal framework in the field of Renewable Energy sector broadly on Hydro and Solar Energy.
